Ian White

This is a portfolio of selected projects by Ian White, a web designer and programmer. Some of the items below were work projects. Others are the manifestation of various php, javascript, or css ideas that I thought would be fun to create. All of the projects listed below were completely planned, designed, laid out, and programmed from start to finish (or in some cases, start to partially finished) by yours truly. Two of the portfolio items, the Information Panel Injector and the Source Code Viewer, were created to more effectively display and describe the work shown here. Source Code Viewer

A PHP script that reads a source code file and creates an HTML based source code viewer for easy reading. This script is used for most of the portfolio items found here to provide easy viewing of each item's PHP, HTML, Javascript, and CSS.
Calendar Interface Demo

The user interface for a calendar application. No back-end has been implemented as this is just an interface concept.
Coder Javascript Demo

A basic text editor implemented using only Javascript. No textareas or other HTML text input elements are used.
WQID

A utility currently being used at Harvard Medical School to track user access to various services offered by the West Quad Computing Group. Screenshots only.

The following are code samples for various projects I created or interface widgets that I decided to implement. I strive to make all of my code as object-oriented, modular, and extensible as possible. In this way I have been able to reuse several components across many projects.

ActiveRecord Source Excerpt

A code library that provides auto-generation of model objects based on MySQL table definitions. Inspired by the ActiveRecord component of Ruby on Rails.
OpenDirectory Interface Class

A PHP class which provides a set of static methods that allow for easy authentication and user/group information discovery from an OpenDirectory server or set of servers.
MySQL Safe Backup Script

A Perl script that allows you to make incremental or full backups of MySQL databases while preventing any concurrency or data corruption issues.
